Tennis Teams Volunteer for Lights at Kennedy

Last year, the Iowa Central tennis teams were both recognized as ITA National Community Service & Outreach Team of the Year. This year, members of the program have wasted no time getting back to work serving the greater Fort Dodge community.

On Saturday, players and coaches joined forces with the Fort Dodge Young Professionals to set up holiday displays in preparation for the "Lights at Kennedy" event hosted by Kennedy Park Campground, 1415 Nelson Ave in Fort Dodge. Community members can enjoy multiple displays of Christmas lights sponsored by local businesses and organizations.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with FDYP and assist with this event. Our players enjoyed meeting kind and caring leaders, and they enjoyed meeting our students that come from all over the world to call Iowa Central home" said head coach Jerry Thor. "It's a great feeling to see the joy and wonder in the eyes of the children when they talk to Santa or gaze at these incredible displays."

The event runs from 6-9pm each night on the following dates: December 6-8, 13-15, 20-22

There is a $5 cost per vehicle with all profits going to the Backpack Buddies Program and Veterans Memorial Park.
