Tritons compete at Kip Janvrin

INDIANOLA - Along with sending athletes to the Drake Relays, the Iowa Central track and field team was also in action at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College. 

Chris Levario secured a spot in the upcoming national meet in the 1,500 for the Tritons. He finished seventh overall in the event with at time of 4:02.43. Teammate Robin Aguilar Gonzalez was eighth in the same event in 4:02.87.

Tristen Hanna was an event winner, claiming the triple jump with a best of 47-1.5, a mark that came on his second attempt. Enoch Antwi was fourth in the event with a jump of 45-5 and also placed fifth in the long jump (21-8.25) for Iowa Central.

Dawqon Wilson was the runner-up in the 110 hurdles, clocking a time of 15.00. Teammate Terry McNeill Jr. finished ninth in 15.58 with Aries Scott 14th (16.17) and Nicola Paletti 15th (16.17). 

Lilia Alvarez was seventh in the 1,500 with a time of 4:52.22 and Patience Heath placed seventh in the long jump with a best of 16-5.25. 

Shaunti Longfellow placed 12th in the 400 in 1:06.06, Cassius Havis was 13th in the 400 in 50.98, Darius Brown was 17th in the 400 in 51.29, Kah'lil Hicks-Jumper was 17th in the 100 in 11.29, Jonah Garcia finished 19th in the 800 in 2:00.49, Ariana Rodriguez 19th in the hammer (120-7) and 20th in the shot put (31-10.75) and Hunter Klimek 20th in the 1,500 in 4:13.52.

The Tritons compete next week in the Region XI Championships.
