Iowa Central's Tina Samson started her 2024 outdoor season off strong.
The 2024 NJCAA indoor pentathlon champion, Samson competed in long jump, where she leaped to a 6.02 meter mark--19 feet 9 inches--winning the event.
This was a personal best for the freshman and also placed her at #2 in the NJCAA standings behind Kyla Metzler of North Central Texas by 1 3/4 inches. It was the farthest jumo in school history as well.
Samson also ran in the 4x100 meter relay where the Tritons placed fifth.
