Track & Field Competes at Central Missouri

Womens track competed at the UCM Mule relays April 12.

The Iowa Central Track and Field team traveled to Warrensburg, Mo Friday April 12 for the UCM Mule Relays.

Dayvione Briggs was the champion in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.76, recording the #6 Triton All-Time Best.

The women's 4x400 Meter Relay team of Abigail Frey, Nicole Schaefer, Natalie Bogdanova Kirilova and Dayvione Briggs finished second in 4:02.57.

Frey's national qualifying 14.59 seconds in the women's 100-meter hurdles earned meet runner-up. Frey finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a national qualifying, #10 Triton All-Time best 1:04.11.

Rowland Kirton-Browne recorded the #2 Triton All-Time best in the javelin, finishing fifth with a throw of 39.01 meters.

Natalie Bogdanova-Kirilova rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Triton women, finishing sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.81.

Jed Elmbarki and Stephen Sydnor were event champions in the 1500-meter run (3:51.07) and men's long jump (6.98 meters) respectively. Elmbarki's time finished as the #4 Triton All-time best.

Adreian Roper took second for the Triton men in the triple jump (14.19 meters) and long jump (6.83 meters) Also finishing second was Jadon Boots in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:29.40.

Youssef Hamed finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.83 seconds and fifth in the 200-meter dash in 21.97 seconds.  Waukeem Walters took eighth in the 100-meter dash in 10.95 seconds. The final top-10 meet finisher for the Tritons was Antoine Tsimaga who finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.24.

Hamza Mohammed's 15:08.94 in the men's 5000-meter run secured a bid to nationals. Canyon Jones' 3.97-meter pole vault landed him in the #5 spot in the Triton All-Time best.

"The weather was phenomenal, and our athletes took advantage of it big time," said Triton Head Coach Anne Cleary. "We have two more meets before the regional and we need our athletes to just keep improving each week. "

The Tritons will next compete at the Musco Twilight meet in Iowa City on April 20.
