Iowa Central closes out October with three more wins

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 12th-ranked Iowa Central volleyball team posted a 3-1 record here this past weekend at the Grand Rapids Tournament, finishing October with an overall record of 21-2. 

The Tritons picked up wins over Mott, Lansing and the host school, No. 10 Grand Rapids, around a loss to Oakland. The event took place inside Ford Fieldhouse. 

Top performers in the match vs. Mott included Amaya Finley, who had 14 kills and 13 digs, and Kealey Anderson, who had 10 kills and 14 digs. Taylor Light recorded six kills and two solo blocks, with Alesha Johnson picking up 27 assists and 12 digs. 

Haley Alharithy had four kills, Taylor Bienemann and Hannah Huss each had 10 digs. 

Finley and Anderson had 19 kills each vs. Lansing, with Anderson adding 26 digs and Finley 17. Bienemann had 24 digs and Huss 18, while Alharithy had eight kills and Light five. Johnson finished with 46 assists.

In the match with Oakland, Finley had 26 kills and nine digs, Anderson had 14 kills and 17 digs, Bienemann had 36 digs and Johnson 42 assists. Alharithy added seven kills, Abbie Stewart five and Huss had 13 digs. 

Finley concluded the four-match tournament with 21 kills vs. Grand Rapids, with Anderson adding 14 and 13 more digs. Bienemann had 23 digs, Johnson 33 assists and 14 digs, Alhairthy six kills and Huss nine digs. 

Iowa Central returns to action Wednesday when they host ICCAC foe Southwestern before heading to Boone for the DMACC Tournament and dates with No. 2 Coffeyville and Metropolitan on Friday.
