Iowa Central Goes 3-1 At Home Tourney

Tritons earn road win at Marshalltown

The Iowa Central volleyball team finished play in their own home tournament on Saturday with a split vs. Cowley County and Carl Sandburg.

The Tritons (26-5 overall) fell in four to Cowley, but rebounded with a five-set victory over Carl Sandburg.

Amaya Finley had 17 kills and 14 digs vs. Cowley, with Kealey Anderson adding 12 kills and 17 digs. Alesha Johnson recorded 39 assists and Hannah Huss had 13 digs. 

Anderson led the way vs. Carl Sandburg with 21 kills and 18 digs, Finley had 17 kills and 23 digs, Taylor Bienemann had 26 digs and Johnson recorded 30 assists with 14 digs. 

Katie Godfredsen had 16 assists and Haley Alharithy had seven kills. Abbie Stewart added five kills with both Delaney Spinks and Karolayne Santos recording four kills each.

Iowa Central returns to action Wednesday when they host Southeastern inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
