Finley reaches milestone as Tritons roll

Amaya Finley surpassed a milestone and the Iowa Central volleyball team remained atop the ICCAC standings Wednesday night with a victory over Southeastern.

Scores were 25-14, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-14.

Finley, a sophomore, became just the second player in program history to record over 1,000 career kills. She now sits at 1,012, just three away from tying Alicia Moreno for the school record. Finley finished with 16 kills and 10 digs on the night.

Kealey Anderson added 20 kills and 14 digs, Abbie Stewart had seven kills and both Delaney Spinks and Haley Alharithy recorded four kills each as the 14th-ranked Tritons improved to 27-5 overall and 6-1 in the ICCAC.

Since the start of the 2016 season, Iowa Central is 41-8 at Hodges Fieldhouse and 27-5 in the conference. They have gone 18-3 at home since last year.

Taylor Bienemann had 17 digs, Katie Godfredsen recorded eight with six assists, Hannah Huss had seven digs and Alesha Johnson picked up 34 assists and seven digs.

Finley is also closing in on Gabby Sullivan's career record for attacks as she has 2,683. Sullivan recorded 2,794. Bienemann ranks 10th on the career digs list with 920.

Iowa Central returns to action Friday when they host both Metropolitan (3 p.m.) and Grand View JV (7 p.m.)
