Tritons keep marching forward with another sweep

In a matter of a few hours, Sara Horn was able to put together a non-conference match with Iowa Lakes to replace the one canceled due to weather.

Horn's fifth-ranked Tritons didn't let her down on the court, either, sweeping past the Lakers here Saturday inside Hodges Fieldhouse. Scores were 25-8, 25-9 and 25-18.

Kealey Anderson led Iowa Central (5-0 overall, 4-0 in ICCAC) with 13 kills while Katilyn Steffes added six. Angel Baylark and Bailey Dugan each recorded four.

"By Thursday afternoon we had this setup," Horn said. "It was great Iowa Lakes could make it work, we could get all the workers here and put it together for the team."

Alesha Johnson had 27 assists, Steffes recorded three aces and Baylyn Johnson registered seven digs. Both Dugan and Alesha Johnson have six digs each.

The Tritons flexed their muscle at the nets with Baylark and Alesha Johnson picking up five assisted blocks and Haley Alharithy four.

"It was good to get in here and play with a game scheduled Sunday," Horn said. "We played 18 girls and there was never a drop or unorganized play. A lot of times you don't sub because you worry about it getting messy, but we never had that happened. We see it every single day in practice so it was great to get them all in there."

On the year, the Tritons are 15-1 in sets including four consecutive sweeps.

Iowa Central heads to Southeastern for a 3 p.m. league match on Sunday.
