The fourth-ranked Iowa Central volleyball team earned another sweep here Thursday night inside Hodges Fieldhouse, downing Marshalltown.

Scores were 25-7, 25-15 and 25-16.

Kealey Anderson registered 10 kills with six digs and five serving aces, Angel Baylark had nine kills and both Molly McCauley and Bailey Dugan recorded six kills.

This marked the final game for the short-handed Tritons (15-2 overall, 14-2 in ICCAC), as they are slated to get four players back over the weekend and ahead of a meeting with No. 5 Iowa Western on Monday.

"We miss the girls that are out," Iowa Central head coach Sara Horn said. "We're thinking about them and know they want to be here. At the same time, that has motivated the team to play these games hard because we know they wish they could be with us."

The Tritons had little trouble with Marshalltown in the first set, reeling off the last five points to take command. The Tigers (0-6, 0-5) showed some life in the second, leading 8-3 before Anderson capped a five-point rally with three consecutive aces.

"I thought the girls really came together over these past few weeks," Horn said. "But we're also very excited to have the others coming back. We'll bring them in and transition them back to the rotation, but we're just happy they are here."

Jaiden Zeis and Haley Alharithy each had three kills with Alesha Johnson chipping in two. Johnson also had 30 assists and eight digs while Dugan and Baylyn Johnson added 12 digs each. Iowa Central finished with nine aces, nine total blocks and 39 kills.

Now, the Tritons set their attention on Iowa Western and their biggest test to date. The Reivers are unbeaten in the conference and 12-3 overall.

"They are just uber-talented," Horn said. "But so are we. This is one of the few matches where we aren't just the more talented team going in. I think the girls are excited, though, because they know they will need to play smart and make some analytical decisions out there.

"It's an exciting challenge for us."
