Tritons Defeat Iowa Lakes in Three, Improve to 12-2 Overall

The Iowa Central Volleyball Team improved to 12-2 on the season following a win over Iowa Lakes in Estherville Wednesday night.

The No. 10 Tritons won in three sets, taking down the Lakers 25-18, 25-10 and 25-10.

Leading the way for Iowa Central in assists was Mercedes Madlock with 28.

Noêmia Chiacchio had led Iowa Central in kills with 12. Olivia Sturgis had nine kills, followed by Emma Bilhimer, Leah Jolly and Araya Garrison each with four kills. Emily Goodner and Madlock each had two kills and Brooke Lensing one kill for the Tritons.

Mya McClain led the Tritons in digs with 15. Olivia Benson had eight digs, Alexis Hiracheta had six digs, Chiacchio had five digs, Madlock four and Goodner, Sturgis and Garrison each recorded one dig for Iowa Central.

The Tritons will travel to North Dakota for the North Dakota State School of Science Tournament this weekend. The Tritons will face Jamestown, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Bismark State and North Dakota Science. Previously, the Tritons won over Bismarck State 3-0 in the Iowa Central Invitational on September 2. They will return to conference play on Tuesday September 19 on the road at North Iowa in Mason City before facing Des Moines Area at home on the 21st.
