Sara Horn enters her 12th season as head coach of the Iowa Central volleyball team.

The Tritons had a memorable 2023 fall season, qualifying for the NJCAA Div. II Championships for the fourth year in a row, placing fifth. Iowa Central went 34-7 during the season and captured a sixth consecutive ICCAC Div. II title and fourth straight Region 11 title.   

The Tritons had two All-Americans. Mercedes Madlock was named an NJCAA 1st Team All-American as well as being named an AVCA 2nd Team All-American.  Mercedes was also named the ICCAC Player of the Year while being named a 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Region selection. Noêmia Chiacchio was also named an All-American, being selected as an Honorable Mention NJCAA All-American.  Noêmia was also a 1st Team All-Conference and All-Region selection.    

In the past four seasons the Triton Volleyball program has a 167-27 record, won four ICCAC Conference titles, four Regional Championships, and made two Final Four National appearances.

Horn is a 2004 graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she was a three-year letter winner for the Cornhuskers. While at Nebraska, Horn earned first-team academic all-Big 12 honors in 2002 and 2003 and was a second-team academic all-Big 12 selection in 2001. She helped lead Nebraska to Big 12 championships in 2001 and 2002 and an NCAA Final Four appearance in 2001. As a senior, Horn ranked third in the Big 12 with an average of 1.26 blocks per game and was fifth in the league with a .317 hitting percentage.

Horn and her husband, Guy, who is the associate athletic director and head athletic trainer at Iowa Central, live in Fort Dodge with their three children, Hunter, Eden and Emerie.
