Women's Wrestling Has Strong Showing at Avila

Women Wrestled at Avila Duals in Kansas City December 15th

Kansas City, Mo. – The Iowa Central Tritons Women's Wrestling squad traveled to Kansas City to compete in the Avila Duals Friday December 15.

The No. 3 Tritons had a strong showing, according to head coach Zak Hensley, going 1-2 overall in dual matches, defeating No 19. (NAIA) Baker University, 39-15.

Emma Lewis went undefeated at 2-0 for the day at 101 pounds. Lewis is presently ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA.

No. 4 ranked Rodiat Adeduntan finished the meet 2-1 at 116, No. 3 Kailyn Younger finished 2-0 at 123 pounds and Bronwyn Brenneman (No. 2) and Hadlie Hood (No. 5) were each undefeated (2-0) at 130 and 136 pounds respectively. No. 6 ranked Kammie Schanz finished the meet 1-1 at 143 pounds.

The Triton women enter winter break at 3-3 in dual matches. They return to action January 13 at the York Open.
