Mason City - With three new faces in the line-up, the second-ranked (NJCAA) Iowa Central Women finished the ICCAC dual season strong with a 50-5 win over NIACC here Wednesday.
Anna Sondall made her first appearance in the Triton lineup at 130, winning her match with a fall over NIACC's Nyla Rocke.
"Anna (Sondall) has yet to see much action but wrestled very well and got a great fall for the team," said Iowa Central Head Coach Zak Hensley.
Hadlie Hood also debuted in the Triton line-up, winning by fall.
Olivia Fausnaugh had a big finish for Iowa Central, taking down her opponent with a 10-0 technical fall.
"A key standout was Olivia Fausnaugh," said Hensley. "She looked great and much improved."
"The dual went well," said Hensley. "It was a great showing to close out the season. We enjoyed having some new faces in the lineup. We are proud of the team for the way they handled business, we couldn't have asked for a better close out the 2023-2024 dual schedule."
The Tritons finish the dual season at 4-2, and third place in the ICCAC. They travel to Des Moines this weekend for the Grandview Invitational and to Fremont, NE for the Warrior Open on February 10 before finishing the season at the NJCAA Nationals in Council Bluffs March 1-2.
