Bifa Runs to Third ICCAC Female Athlete of the Week Honors

Iowa Central's Yididiya Bifa posted the top time at the Region 11 Championships this past Friday, earning her Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season. The freshman ran a time of 18:13 in the 5k race at Cedar Creek Golf Course. She won by five seconds over runner up Barbara Neiva of Iowa Western. Bifa's performance helped earn her the designation of the ICCAC Division I Athlete of the Year honor as well. Iowa Central also won the Region 11 Championship for the first time since 2022. Four Iowa Central women have combined to win six ICCAC Female Athlete of the Week honors this season. The Tritons will travel to Richmond, Va. for the NJCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 9.
