No. 10 Tritons all over Ellsworth, 66-17

IOWA FALLS - No. 10 Iowa Central had no trouble with Ellsworth here Saturday, rolling to a 66-17 victory.

The Tritons (5-1 overall, 1-1 in ICCAC) opened up a 38-0 lead at the half as Byron Jarrett and Daylen Boddie combined for five touchdowns.

"We were able to get right after them and put them in a hole," Iowa Central head coach Jesse Montalto said. "The focus was great and the kids followed the plan perfectly.

"We did a great job running the ball again this week and controlling the tempo. That opened everything up for the offense, and the defense was flying all over the field."

Jarrett finished 13-for-19 passing for 243 yards and three touchdowns, adding 55 yards and two more scores on the ground. Boddie ran for 109 yards and a TD, while also throwing a touchdown pass to Desna Washington. He added a pair of receptions for 22 yards.

Zach Marker came on in relief of Jarrett and ran for 75 yards and a score, Levon Bellemy found the end zone and had 60 yards rushing and Cal Weidemann caught five passes for 110 and a score.

Aniik McKenzie had 61 yards receiving and a score.

"We've just got to continue improving each day and be 1-0 each week," Montalto said. "That's the goal and the focus of this team. We have some big games coming up and we'll use this bye week to get healthy and prepare."

Iowa Central returns to the field on Saturday, October 23 when they travel to Kansas to face Highland. They close the month with a third road trip, this time to Iowa Western for a rematch with the Reivers, who knocked off No. 1 Snow on Saturday.
