2017 Triton Marching Band Outlook

2017 Triton Marching Band Outlook

The 2017 version of the Iowa Central Community College Triton Marching Band is excited to start camp on August 21, and for many exciting opportunities this fall.  The roster will be a majority of new members this fall that are excited to learn traditions and contribute to the Triton Nation spirit!

Again the band will be performing multiple halftime shows this fall.  The first show planned to be performed is "Sing!".  Fans will be able to hear the music of My Chemical Romance, Pentatonix, and Ed Sheeran at home games on August 26, September 16, and October 21.   Hits from the 1980's will be featured in our halftime show "Video Killed The Radio Star" on September 2, September 23, and November 4, featuring "She Blinded Me With Science", "Talking In Your Sleep", "Rock the Casbah", "Take On Me", and "Never Gonna Give You Up".

Of course, halftime is not the only time you hear the band during home games at Dodger Stadium.  Just like any university, game day is a full experience for Triton Nation.  Fans will definitely want to make sure they're in their seats at least 10 minutes prior to kick off to see our pregame show, featuring the Iowa Central Dance Team, Triton Cheer, and various Iowa Central athletic teams assisting with our 1,800 square foot American flag and more!

Student leadership this fall will be led by Drum Majors Sienna Layne of Fort Dodge, IA, and Jarrett Delp of Dana, IA.

The Triton Marching Band is also excited for a number of opportunities away from the home football schedule.  Exhibition performances will take place in Fort Dodge for the North Central Iowa Band Invitational on September 23rd, and as part of the Algona Band Day parade on Saturday September 30th.   The band will take its music on the road to a number of area high schools in short run out performances October 19th and 20th, finishing with a "Friday Night Lights" performance with the Belmond Klemme HS Band in Belmond.

Once again, we're honored to be performing for the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships hosted in Fort Dodge on Saturday November 11.  As always, we're hopeful to finish the season with another bowl game performance.
